Celebrate All of Your Wins!!!

Celebrate All of Your Wins!!!

In this very short video, I discuss and go over celebrating your wins and the importance of doing so.   All of your wins and accomplishments should be celebrated regardless of how big or small they are. Celebrating these wins, or accomplishments, puts focus on what did get done, as opposed to what didn’t get done. It helps to focus our minds to the positive.

How Blogging Can Improve Your Social Media Marketing

Do you blog?

Are you active in social media?

If you answered yes to both of those questions, then blogging can improve you social media marketing skills and your influence.

Add your blog posts to your status updates –

This might sound like a no brainer, but it is an important step when it comes to your sharing. You’ll want to post a link to your blog post/ article, preferably with an eye catching picture to go along with it. You don’t want to post a link to a product or a capture page! Doing so won’t win you more followers or supporters. You want to provide people with valuable content.

Avoid being too spammy and sharing self-promotional posts too often. A pretty good rule of sharing is 80% miscellaneous (as in quotes, ideas, pictures, other people’s posts etc.) and the remaining 20% to be about your business/ product/ opportunity etc.

Make it easy for your readers and others to share your blog posts.

I use WordPress, and there are many different plugins for members to use to help them with social sharing. There are many variations of share buttons and share bars that can be customized to your liking – bars (such as Sociable) on the side that follow the reader as he/she reads down the page, or located at the bottom of the post. Two examples are below. Using these plugins allows users to easily share their post on their social media sites with just the click of a button. There is no need to copy and paste links anymore.

In addition to the social share buttons and bar, you could also use plugins for a Facebook share box, or a YouTube subscribe box (YouTube Subscribe widget). The options are endless!

In your call to action –

Another way to get your readers to share your post is to simply ask them to do so. In your call to action, you can ask or suggest that if they enjoyed what they read to please share it with their friends and followers.  You could also invite them to join you on Facebook, Google +, Twitter etc. where they can learn more from you there.

These are just a few ways that you could improve, and expand your social media marketing. Sharing your blog posts on social media sites is a great way to get readers over to your blog, and vice versa, to get your readers to follow you in social media.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Please remember to comment and share!

Music to Regain Focus - 20 songs to Boost Your Energy

I recently wrote a post about how to break the monotony, re-gain some lost energy, and get your mind better focused. That article is (July is “National Anti Boredom Month”.) Sometimes, you just need to change your physiology and your environment. One of the ways I discussed was to get up and dance! It’s not only fun, but easy, and for me it works every time. If you’re like me and spend a lot of time in your office chair, or any chair for that matter, taking a boogie break is always welcome.

I thought that I would share with you a list of songs that I like to use (it’s actually my work out playlist).

Time to get your boogie on!

In no particular order:

  • Hall of Fame – The Script with Will.i.am
  • Good Life – One Republic
  • Glad You Came – The Wanted
  • Pocket Full of Sunshine – Natash Bedingfield
  • Blue Orchid – The White Stripes
  • Please Don’t Stop the Music – Rihanna
  • Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) – Kelly Clarkson
  • Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO
  • Don’t Stop the Party – Pitbull
  • Starships – Nicki Minaj
  • SexyBack – Justin Timberlake
  • Right Round – Flo Rida
  • Tetris – Electrixx
  • Firew0rk – Katy Perry
  • Blurred Lines – Robin Thicke, T.I., Pharrell
  • Don’t Tread on Me – Metallica
  • The Hand that Feeds – Nine Inch Nails
  • Bring Me back to Life – Evanescence
  • Got the Life – Korn
  • When Worlds Collide – Powerman 5000

I hope you enjoyed the list. These 20 songs are just the tip of the iceberg of my list. Listening to music is a great way to change your focus, especially when you find yourself losing energy or looking for something to break the monotony….or maybe you’ve been working too long and just need a change of pace!

What are your favorite songs that you use in your life to get yourself pumped up? … to get your blood pumping?

Don’t Listen to That Negative Little Voice in Your Head

Don’t Listen to That Negative Little Voice in Your Head

I am participating in another (my 2nd) Ultimate Blog Challenge.

As I was getting ready for this challenge, I was reminded that I almost didn’t participate in the last one. It was a 30 day challenge – blogging every day, with the end goals of increasing traffic, opt-ins and skills for blogging.

I almost didn’t participate in the challenge, because the little voice in my head reminded me that I was working full time, commuting about 2 hours every day, and that I had little spare time to keep up or have time to blog. It said I wouldn’t be able to keep up, so what’s the point?

I did end up participating in the challenge. I didn’t blog every day, but I was able to double what I was doing before, so I was blogging 2 – 3 times a week. The challenge was an overall great experience. I learned many things, increased my traffic and had some positive visitor results.

Don’t listen to the voice!

If I had listened to the little voice that said that I wouldn’t have time, and let it stop me, then I wouldn’t have known what I was capable of, of what I could accomplish. I am glad that I didn’t listen to that little negative voice. We can’t let that voice stop us. especially as entrepreneurs or business owners, it’s all about taking action and taking risks, trying new things and making progress.

So, my message for today is to not listen to that negative voice inside your head if it rears it’s ugly face.  Our minds are there to protect us, so sometimes, that voice makes an appearance. It thinks that it is doing the right thing, but can end up hurting us in the long run. When that voice pops up and tries to talk you out of something, stop for a moment and think about it. What are the pros and cons? Why should I do it? Why shouldn’t I?

I don’t like having a lot of “what ifs” in my life. I have learned to take risks and try new things. Most things (if not everything) are a learning experience.

Thank you for stopping by!

July is “National Anti – Boredom Month”

July is “National Anti – Boredom Month”

I thought this was rather strange when I came across this “holiday” as I was gearing up for the coming month.  Today, I find that I am very rarely in a state of boredom, but as a youngster, I was constantly whining to my mother that I was bored….I had nothing to do. That of course was further from the truth. I just spent a lot of my time in front of the television – “the automatic income reducer”, just wasting my days away. At least that’s what it felt like.

July is National Anti-Boredom Month

Occasionally, today, I find myself not wanting to get done what I need or want to get done. Sometimes, it seems like the spark or desire has dwindled. I need to refocus my energy and my mind and gain some inspiration.

Here are some tips and things that you can try to get your energy and inspiration back when boredom starts to set in:

  • Change your environment – escape from your environment. Go for a walk, get some fresh air. Removing yourself from where you are stuck can refocus your mind to something different, something fresh. You may just need a change of pace, even if it’s a short 10 minute walk through your neighborhood.

  •  Change your physiology – this is any change in movement to get your body moving. You could step away from your desk and do some jumping jacks or run up and down the stairs a few times. This will get your blood pumping and your lungs breathing. Some people may want to scream, or maybe turn on your favorite tunes and dance around – that’s always fun.

  • Do some major de-cluttering – Sometimes we may not realize it, but having a lot of clutter, paperwork, items that we have that are either broken or that we don’t need are causing us stress. By eliminating these items from our living or work spaces, we are clearing and opening up space. We would have more breathing room, more room for inspiration and getting things done.

Pretty much, it just helps to shake things up a bit. Tweak the routine a bit, do something out of the ordinary in order to keep that boredom away. These are just a few tips that I use in my daily life to help me when things start to get a little boring and monotonous.

what do you like to do when boredom starts to set in? Do you even have times that seem to get a little boring or stagnant? I would love to hear what you do, or any of your favorite tips you’d like to add.
