Get Your Content Noticed and Get More Traffic

13 Reason Why You Should Blog

In order to get noticed more and get more visitors to your website/ blog, you need to be active and get your content out there. There are many aspects to blogging and getting traffic, but in this post, I’m not talking about the technical parts such as SEO, backlinks etc.., only the easy basic aspects.

Be Active-

In being active, you need to be consistent. Whether you publish a post every day, or once a week, the key is to be consistent. Continually post and share valuable content that will help people and inform them.

Share, share, share –

So, you have your post written and published to your blog. Now what?! You now need to share your post and get it in front of other people’s eyes.

If you already have a list of readers/ customers, then you can send them the post in your email marketing and autoresponder. In addition, you can share your posts on any and all social media sites that you frequent and connect with people on.  There are many social media platforms out there, the big 5 being: Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Linkedin and Pinterest.

The great things about social media are that they are:

  • Free to use
  • Easy to use – only takes minutes to complete
  • Can be fun
  • There are millions of people using social media

You simply post (share) your link on your pages of the social media platforms. Just be sure to not spam other people by posting your link on their pages. Make sure to communicate and interact with others.

Another great way to increase traffic to your blog is through a blog challenge or blogging group. I think it’s a great idea to participate in a blog challenge. At least, I have found success through these challenges. There are many of them out there, both free, and paid. Here are a couple that I have am currently doing:

The Ultimate Blog Challenge

Bionic Blog Challenge

Some of the benefits of a blog challenge are:

  • Learning – bloggers are from different industries & niches
  • Gain experience –
  • Get more traffic/ higher ranking (which could lead to more optins/ sign ups/ sales
  • Community of people sharing your content, leaving you comments, giving feedback, etc.
  • Place to get/ share ideas

My blog has grown dramatically and my blogging ability has improved just by using social media and participating in blog challenges.

These ideas are just the tip of the iceberg. I could have gone more into detail, but social media and blogging can be very complex creatures. I just wanted to give you some of the basics. More information to come in future posts!

Come, Take a Short Break with Me

Come, Take a Short Break with Me

I have a deep fascination with the universe. Anytime there is a documentary on space, planets, stars, astronauts, space travel etc., I have got to see it.

You may be asking yourself: What does this have to do with internet marketing or network marketing?

Well, that’s a good question…..and the answer is: not much.

I know and believe that as human beings, (especially business owners and entrepreneurs) we need to continue to learn, grow and also, to take a break every once in a while.

I found and would like to share with you a short video that fulfills those three things I mentioned. This video: provides me with a long needed break, teaches me something new (and interesting) and it’s about space!

So, take a few minutes, sit back and enjoy the short video.

Possible Road Blocks to Successful Goal Setting and Achieving

Possible Road Blocks to Successful Goal Setting and Achieving

Possible Roadblocks to Sertting and Achieving Goals

For some people, setting and achieving goals can be fun and easy. Others, however may come across some roadblocks while on their journey that may slow them down or prevent them from achieving the end goal.

Some potential road blocks to setting your goals are:

  • Having too many goals going on at the same time. – You will have better success if you have only a few goals that you can focus on. Too many at once can cause you stress and anxiety and could possibly lead to failure to complete some or all of your goals.
  • Having an attitude of perfectionism. – Waiting for the right time or for everything to be perfect can prevent you from ever starting anything. Just Start! You can always go back and make changes later once you get a feel for them.
  • Setting your goals in an environment that you are familiar with. – A change of scenery can help creativity to flow and can freshen any “stuck” feelings you may have. If you wanted to change something in your life, or improve it, setting a goal in the same environment will cause you to have the same feelings and thoughts that you always or already have. A different environment will allow you to have a different perspective and you may be able to come up with new ideas or solutions.

Some potential Roadblocks to achieving your goals could be:

  • Choosing a goal that is too far out in the future, having a goal that is hard to reach, or out of your way.
  • Having a lack of focus to achieving your goal. – Clear your mind and eliminate any distractions.
  • Designing a goal that is too vague or unclear. – The clearer and more defined your goal is, the easier it will be for you to reach. Clarity creates direction.
  • Having goals that conflict with each other. For example, you could have one goal to get an extra project done at your job, while at the same time have a goal to spend more time with your family. It may be impossible to do some goals because they’d be competing for your time. How could you spend more time at work getting projects done and spend more time with your family?
  • Focusing on what you don’t want. – Focusing on the negative, or focusing on what you don’t want rather than what you do want.

Guidelines to Successful Goal Setting

Guidelines to Successful Goal Setting

Guidelines to Successful Goal Setting

Guidelines for Successful Goal Setting

Setting your goals is really quite simple. There are a few guidelines that I use that help to support and guide me to achieve the goals I want to reach.

I look forward to sitting down and planning a strategy for my next set of goals. Before I learned the importance of setting goals and really understood how to do it. I had considered it like a chore, or like homework. But now, I actually enjoy it the process.

Here are some guidelines to keep in mind when setting your goals:

Be specific and clear.  – Use details, and positive words that have meaning to you.

Make the goal measurable. – Use numbers for you to get to (weight, dollar amount, amount of time etc.) so that it is obvious. You’ll be able to tell if you’ve achieved your goal, or how much farther you need to go to reach the goal. Using numbers is a good tool for you to measure your progress and to keep you focused.

Make your goal attainable. – In other words, create your goal to be simple so that you can reach it. If your goal is too complicated, or has elements that are beyond your control, you may be unconsciously setting yourself up for a failure.

Give yourself a time frame for which to have your goal completed. –  Having an end time helps to keep you focused and motivated.

Make your goals relevant to you. – Design a goal that has meaning for YOU, and is important to YOU.  Your goal should be worthy of you and be a reflection of your vision or values.

Design you goals to be inspiring. – Create goals that excite you, not drain you. You should feel drawn to your goal. Make them fun and uplifting. I find that half the process is on the wording You can turn something boring into something fun simply by using the right words. I like to use words like explore, create or discover in place of find or figure out,  release instead of lose etc.

Focus on your desired goal and create action steps to reach them. – With each goal you set, write down 3-5 (or more) actions that you can do in order to build up and get you close to achieving your goal. Doing this breaks down the goal into smaller, possibly easier steps. Then, each day, make sure that you take at least one action each day.

Set your goals in a different environment than where you spend most of your time. – Changing things up will give you a new perspective. It helps you to change your mindset and see things in a different light. You can also put yourself in an environment you would like the goal to result in. For example, if your goal is to receive/make/earn more money or upgrade to a more affluent lifestyle, you could ride an elevator to the top of a 5 star hotel and create your goals there. Make your goals from where you want to be. Want to be fit? Set your goals at the gym, want to spend more time in nature, construct your goals at the local park.

These guidelines are given to help you in the process of setting your goals. Whether you follow all of them, or just some of them, the important thing is to take action. Set your goals, go for them, and have fun.

Why Do I Even Want to Set Goals For Myself?

Why Do I Even Want to Set Goals For Myself?

You’ve probably been hearing a lot about setting goals since we’re in the beginning of 2014. I know that I have.  I asked myself why I needed goals for myself and didn’t learn the answer until I started playing The Ultimate Game of Life. This was one of the first valuable  things that I learned.

You see, I really didn’t know how to set goals, and more importantly, how to reach them. I thought I did know, but thinking back on it…I never did achieve a goal I wanted to reach. They turned out to be more like new years resolutions that sounded good, but never come to fruition. I pretty much stated, “I will do this…” only to do nothing about it. It’s no wonder I never achieved them, since I was going about it all wrong.

Setting goals seemed more interesting to me once I learned why doing so is so important for me , and you dear reader, as well. Below, are just some of those reasons.

Setting goals:

Provide focus

Help us to create habits in our life

Creates inspiration

Creates motivation

Give us direction, as a line or path to follow to get us to where we want to go.

Help to keep us aligned to our end goal, how to act etc.

Bring us positive feelings and confidence through accomplishment and progress

Can create organization and order

Can help to measure the progress we make

I feel that my life is so much better since I have learned how to set goals, and how to structure myself so that I can reach them. It has truly helped me and guided me to many successes in both my personal and business lives. I wish the same for you too.
