Traffic….Why Do We Need It? and How Do We Get IT?!
Traffic, traffic, traffic…It’s all about the traffic. I’m not talking about the the kind where you’re stopped on the 405. I’m talking about web traffic! If you have a website or blog, you will want to get as many people to come visit your site as much as possible. In the internet world, traffic, simply put, is a visitor to your website. Just as you would travel and visit a store or restaurant, you do the same when exploring the web.
One of the most important parts to your business is getting more traffic. The more traffic, or people viewing our content we get, the better. More eyes will be seeing our products or reading what we create and want more. Your goal is to build your list and build your audience.
There are many ways to get more visitors to your website or blog. You can use any or all of the following ways:
Advertising – pay per click ads (example: Facebook, Google Ad words), or banners
Article marketing – Writing informative articles & posting them on article websites such as Ezine. The article would have a link back to your blog or website.
Blogging – Write and post articles on a consistent and regular basis. Also post some videos, or invite a guest blogger to share some information on your site.
Vlogging– video blogging. You can explain and share ideas, offer tips, have contests and interact with your viewers.
Social media – there are many social media websites on the web today. You can post a blog article, comment on other people’s posts, pictures or articles. Make yourself known and become popular. People will want to join you.
Networking – Online or offline. Attend seminars and get out and meet people. Build and expand your network. Check out other bloggers websites and comment on them. You can create a backlink to your website.
Your url in your signature – if you post a lot, people will get to like your stuff & want to follow you.
Which ever of the above options you choose, the main goal will be to make the content valuable and relevant to your business or product. When you do post, you need to give people value when you do, and they will begin to trust you and follow you. You will gain more visits to your site. They’ll want to return to check out your other material. Make your posts entertaining and educational. The more you do, the better you’ll become. Like anything in life, practice helps you learn and get better at what you do. Have fun with your posts, but be consistent too. It helps to post or share daily or weekly.
Getting traffic can be easy, but it does take time. There are many ways that you can get more visitors coming to your site. Eventually, you’ll find the ways that work for you. The first step is to take action!
