Social media is an easy, effective and free way for you to market yourself and your business online. Social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and many others bring people together, connecting them, and allowing you to build relationships with them. They also let you target customers in your specific industry, communicate with them, and show your social proof. It is a platform that allows you to reach hundreds or thousands of people without leaving the comfort of your home or office. Social media has become a huge mainstream marketing tool that is easy to set up, use and doesn’t make a dent in your pocketbook! Social media sites have been growing in popularity all over the world.
One of the things that makes marketing through social media sites so successful is that it is both easy to set up and to use. Joining these sites is free, so it costs you nothing but your time. Once you sign up, you’re off and running. These sites allow you to present yourself and/or your product to the online community which consists of millions of users. By sharing, or posting things about you and your product, people have the opportunity to get to know you, learn about you, and if they like you and what you have to offer, will follow and join you.
Social media is all about people- making connections and making interactions with people. It allows you to develop and build relationships with them. You can share your ideas, your products and a wide range of information. You are able to reach an unlimited amount of people at once. The more you share, give value and stay positive, the more people you will attract. With social media, you can attract the people that you want to share with and want to have as your customers. You can narrow down who you reach within a certain niche or industry. This is the modern version of going door to door or hanging out fliers. You put yourself out there for all to see. If they are interested, they will join you and want to learn more.
The more people that you have following you, or joining you on social media, the more people you will be able to share with. You can reveal to them who you really are and let them see what you know. In other words, they will be able to see your knowledge of your product by telling them about it, showing them pictures and posting other information. People do not just want to be sold to. You want to build a relationship with them. Let them get interested in you and what you have to say.
Social Media marketing is all about interacting with people. You can easily keep in contact with your clientele and participate in customer service issues such as answering questions about your product or handle complaints. When it comes to a complaint or problem a customer has, you can respond quickly. Such speedy actions shows them and the other community members that you care about them as well as your business.
To be successful at Social Media marketing, you need to be consistent and keep your information fresh. You should treat your social media marketing as if you would a job. Set aside and plan time in your schedule to participate on your social sites. For example, maybe you will plan to post on each site twice a day and spend half an hour commenting and answering questions. Or maybe you’ll chose to post one article once a week on Tuesday, and a motivational picture or status update every day. Whatever you decide to do, just be sure that you are consistent. People will begin to look forward to or expect your next post. You don’t want to appear flaky or unreliable. Make your interactions a daily or weekly habit. You should keep your information fresh and provide value to your friends/ followers. The more and better information that you provide them, the more you will be trusted, liked and respected. You will want to post pictures of you working in the community, standing with your mentor, or interacting with a community leader if you can. This will be your social proof. People are attracted to successful, well liked people.
Social Media marketing is an mainstream marketing instrument that can be used effectively and successfully to attract customers, gain traffic to your website and expand your business. Social media is all about making connections with people and building relationships. If you present yourself in an honest, professional, knowledgeable and successful person, you will easily gain friends/ followers on the social media sites you use. Social media sites are free to join and easy to navigate. Social media sites have millions of users, and you will want to be where the people are. If you’re not using social media then you are missing out on a lot and should get involved!
