My Latest Tolerance Challenge – Paying More Attention to Me!

My Latest Tolerance Challenge – Paying More Attention to Me!

Several times a year, The Ultimate Game of Life hosts some different, free challenges. They have a 24 Hour Wealth Challenge, and a 24 Hour Tolerance challenge. I recently had the opportunity to participate in the 24 Tolerance challenge.

Tolerations are just what they sound like. They are the things in our lives that we tolerate. Tolerations drain us of our energy, keeping us in a place of stress and struggle.  Some tolerations can be clutter, broken or unused equipment, junk and read emails, and debt, just to name a few.  By eliminating these tolerations, we are able to create ease and increase more energy in your life.

One of the things that I love most about participating in TUG is that everything is gamified. You get to play along with others (online) in a team environment. Everything is more fun and success is easier in with team members, people that you can share and celebrate your wins with. In the challenge, I learned how to discover the tolerances in my life and how to eliminate them.  I never really understood the drag that they were causing me until I got rid of them. I find that I have less stress, more physical space and I feel lighter (if that makes sense!). I have more organization, feel like I can get more accomplished in my life, and I feel happier.

So, along with the usual clutter I removed….know what else I eliminated?! I eliminated putting ME and my personal life in the back seat. I’m the one who will always help someone else first or cater to others before myself.  I decided to treat myself recently. I went on the local Pirate Cruise. It’s kinda cheesy, but a fun way to cruise around the harbor. We had fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and spent the rest of the day walking around the beach.

How interesting Jodene! I love these kinds of challenges! I think it great that you made you a priority. A friend of mine likes to say “show self love by self care”. I know that it’s easier said than done but you can’t give what you don’t have, right?! 🙂 Keep up the great work! Tolerance is key to happiness.

Thank you Caroline – And thank you for sharing your friend’s quote. I’ll have to remind myself of that. We are no good to others if we don’t take care of ourselves first! (or at least set time aside for us) 🙂

  2. Sounds like a great idea. Although I know many of my tolerances I think most can benefit by coming in touch with them better and learning to deal with them.
    Great post.

I wasn’t too sure about it when I first started the challenge, but once I realized what it was about, it was GAME on! I found so many things that I was able to change for the better – many more to work on though. The whole experience was rewarding and fun. Thanks for stopping by!

Tolerations… ugh! I can could go for a Toleration Elimination Challenge! And a boat ride! 🙂 🙂

I love toleration eliminations! I was a little skeptical at first because that means change & getting rid of things. But, once I started the process and developed habits, I thoroughly enjoy it! 🙂

I like cheesy! I thought this was a great post. I love the pictures…For some reason it still makes me think of the Thriller Dance you guys did. That was hilarious. I love how you’re so adventurous!

    • jodene says:

Cheesy works for me! Thank you Elisabeth. It was fun. It was also a chance for us to learn a new environment. After the little boat ride, we walked around the harbor and discovered a new beach that had miles and miles of sand, and it was almost deserted. I was excited that I found a new beach to go to. 🙂

    I love this!!!
Arrrrrrrrr! you are so worthy of putting your wants/needs in the front! Good Girl….and happy dance!!! we are all falling short of truly loving ourselves to the fullest! And it is the thing we need the most… not to “give in” to every whim… but pay attention to be intentional to care and love for self! thanks, Jodene!!!

Thank you so much Robin. I appreciate your kind words. I can always count on you. My eyes are wide open. I still care about others of course, but I do remember to take care of me too. 🙂

  6. Bobbi says:

That’s a journey I’ve been on myself lately, Jodene…learning how to put myself first once in a while. The Pirate Cruise looks like fun!

Putting ourselves first is so very important…better late than never right?! It is something I need to constantly remind myself of. I’m glad that you too are making the journey. Have fun! Thank you Bobbi. 🙂

  7. Lindsay Gregory says:

Great blog and you are right to make your self first in making your decisions even you elect to make yourself last or help some one else it was your decision and removing toleration is a good move but I also feel that if we cannot deal with them at the first instant then to remove them before they become a clutter or toleration to our life.

    • jodene says:

You are right Lindsay. The sooner the better! I am the type of person that I don’t notice until it’s obvious. Then, I go at it. I have been developing some pretty strong habits so that I know what to look for and catch them before they become a “tolerance”. Thank you Lindsay. 🙂

  8. Sounds like a fun day and a great reminder that putting yourself at the top of your life list is a vital as well as important message. It is very true that tolerating crap in life can be very exhausting too! Thanks for sharing Jodene! Best Regards, Wendy

Thank you Wendy. You’re right that tolerating crap in your life can be very exhausting. Tolerations have proved to get in the way of one’s focus and success. The less tolerations we put up with in our lives, the better off we will be! 🙂
