Using My Cell Phone and Ipod to Help Me to Schedule My Week
The Coming Week
I consider myself to be a pretty organized person. I keep lists, constantly write in my calendar, and try to schedule as much as I can. (I find that mostly I can’t schedule much because I am still an employee, and between the job and commuting, I work on business with the other available time I have left.) Overall, I have things pretty well organized.
At the end of every week, I will sit down and think about everything that I need to get done in the coming week. Oftentimes, there will be things I know I need to add and get done, but can’t remember what it was. It is so frustrating! I know that at the time I have theses ideas, I think to myself that I will remember, but most times I don’t!
I finally found a solution to help me with that. It took some practice, but over time, I have created the habit. I always have my phone with me, so I have made it a practice that any time I have a thought whether it’s for the next blog post, what to share on my Facebook fan page, an appointment, or something that I want to do, I will either record a voice memo for myself or type it into the notepad of my phone. (My partner uses his ipod and he takes it everywhere with him.) I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of my ideas when I’m running errands, or working out, so having that phone has saved me a lot of stress and frustration!
Make sure that wherever you go, you carry a device with you like a cell phone or ipod so that you can record or write down any important thoughts you might have. That way, when you need it, you’ll have it there with you and not have to try to “remember” what it was you want to do. Then you can sit down back at your home or office and prepare for your coming week. It may take practice like it did for me, for you to create that habit of using your phone or ipod for dictating your thoughts.
What kind of methods do you use to keep yourself organized, or to help you not forget something?
