2 Very Important Tips When it Comes to Social Media Marketing
1 Make sure that you are in the driver seat of your business.
What I mean by this is to make sure that you have your customer or contact list outside of the social media sites. For example, like with Facebook. Social media sites allow you to create and collect a large data base of people: names and information etc. If you have a fan page or profile page with a ton of people in it, and that’s where all of your information is, then you could face losing it. Facebook has a strict and specific set of rules. If you break their rules enough times (they will warn you first) they can eliminate your account. Along with that goes all of your fans, your friends and their contact information. So, it would be smart if you have an opt in page somewhere on your facebook fan page so that they can opt in and give you their information which will be sent where you want them to be sent, like your Aweber email list. Just make sure that YOU are in control of that information because your customer base is very important. That is Your business.
2 It’s all about the relationship!
If you have a product or service that you want to sell or provide to someone, people join people. They’re not just going to go buy a product from you because it looks cool. Maybe someone will, but most likely they won’t. In general, the rule is:
People will want to know you before they like you.
They want to like you before they trust you. And then, they
want to trust you before they buy from you.
So, It’s pretty much all about the relationship, building a relationship with the people you meet on your social media websites whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, any of those. It’s all about the relationship because they want to join YOU. They want to like you, then they want to trust you.
I found that these two things were very important and very effective for me when it comes to social media marketing because social media plays a really big part in my marketing strategies and I spend a lot of time on them. I have learned that these two things really do make a difference. I wanted to share them with you so that you can learn them and incorporate them into your marketing strategies as well.
